Day 2: Amman Exploration – Jerash – Petra
Start with breakfast at your Amman hotel at 8:00 AM. Visit the historic Amman Citadel, perched atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the capital. Continue to the vibrant Al-Balad district, with its lively souks and the iconic Roman Theatre, a relic of Amman’s past as “Philadelphia.” Next, travel 45 minutes to Jerash, a Greco-Roman gem with well-preserved ruins. If luck permits, catch a lively gladiator or chariot race reenactment. After a 3-hour drive, arrive at your Petra hotel. Optionally, experience the magical Petra Night Show (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday; $24 USD). Enjoy dinner and overnight in Petra.
Day 3: Petra Adventure – Wadi Rum
After an early breakfast, explore Petra’s wonders. Traverse the Siq, either on foot or with a short horse ride, to reach the iconic Treasury, a 45-meter marvel carved by the Nabateans over 2,000 years ago. Savor lunch at Al Qantara restaurant.
